Extinction, installation by Max Papeschi
Area antistante l'ex Casa del Combattente, Lungomare Trieste, Santa Teresa, Salerno
Organised by Comune di Salerno
Extinction is Max Papeschi's installation that from 7 November 2026 occupies the area in front of the former Casa del Combattente, on the Trieste seafront in Santa Teresa, Salerno. An army of 46 life-size terracotta sculptures and 3 light works occupies the public space and invites passers-by to stop and look. The work aims to stimulate reflection on human stupidity, war and cultural decay, with an immediate visual impact. The exhibition is curated by Stefania Morici and Antonio Calbi and is part of the Luci d'Artista programme. The exhibition remains visible until 4 April 2027, outdoors and with free access. It is promoted by the Comune di Salerno together with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Parigi, with an opening on Saturday 7 November at 17.30 at the Casa del Combattente.
