Festa della Castagna del Prete
Centro storico, Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo
From October 2 to 4, 2026, Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo (AV) hosts the tenth edition of the Festa della Castagna del Prete. The event takes place in the historic center of the Irpinia village, at the foot of Monte Terminio. The festival celebrates the 'castagna del Prete', an indigenous variety with a thin shell, floury texture and sweet taste. Along the alleys, food stalls offer roasted chestnuts, soups, chestnut-based desserts and other Irpinia specialties. The program includes folkloric shows, musical entertainment and craft markets. An opportunity to savor the autumn flavors of Irpinia.
