Capolavori in Luce

Aversa (CE)

Sala del '700 del Museo Diocesano, primo piano del Seminario Vescovile di Aversa

Organised by Museo Diocesano di Aversa

Open in Google Maps

At the Museo Diocesano di Aversa, in the Sala del '700 on the first floor of the Seminario Vescovile, the exhibition Capolavori in Luce offers an educational insight into the city's artistic and ecclesiastical heritage. The event was created on the occasion of the loan of the Madonna del Gonfalone by Francesco Solimena to the Museo di Capodimonte, for the exhibition dedicated to the painter scheduled from 17 December 2026 to 9 May 2027. The itinerary is divided into three themes: the Madonna del Gonfalone, with historical-artistic and diagnostic analysis; the Chiesa di S. Maria degli Angeli, with the history of the Arciconfraternita and the paintings on display in the museum; the Madonna dei Giovani, patroness of the Seminario Vescovile. A multimedia station allows visitors to observe up close the museum's eighteenth-century works, including the canvas by Solimena. The initiative is promoted by the Museo Diocesano di Aversa with the Associazione In Octabo, as part of the second edition of the project Nova Aversa: Conoscere, Formare e Valorizzare il patrimonio ecclesiastico aversano. It can be visited from 6 to 20 November 2026.
