Nature and hikes WALKING TOWARDS THE GROTTO OF SAN MICHELE

On September 29, the day of San Michele, a walk of about 2 km starts from Piazza XX Settembre, following the ancient devotional path towards the grotto of San Michele, a sanctuary of Lombard origin carved into the rock of Matese. Along the way, a guide tells the story of the Michaelic cult, the legend of the saint and the Rito della Comparanza, a tradition still alive in the village.
Upon arrival, visit the grotto and taste the 'Biscotto di San Michele', a typical sweet recognized as a Traditional Agri-Food Product, which once the faithful carried in procession as an ex voto.
