The 42nd Festa della Castagna di Montella IGP returns to the historic centre of Montella for five days: Sunday 1, Monday 2, Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026. The streets and squares host over one hundred stands with roasted chestnuts, chestnut-based sweets and other Irpinian specialities, along with local wines. Alongside the food, the event offers crafts and agri-food products from Irpinia with exhibitions and direct sales, live music, concerts, street artists, shows and children's entertainment, cooking shows and traditional recipes. Highlights include the welcome of the Historic Train at the FS station, an excursion to the Complesso Monumentale del Monte and the presentation of the Roccio d'Oro 2026 award. The festival is organised by Pro Loco Montella Alto Calore. The stands open every day from 10:00 and remain active at lunchtime and in the evening, so the festival can be enjoyed both by day and after sunset.
